We are a Volunteer Hunt
Field Secretary and Volunteer Extraordinaire Brenda!

Wentworth Hunt is an ALL Volunteer hunt. This means we can’t be a functioning hunt club without your help!

Members may volunteer in many ways, at home or on location, for a few hours or as many as you can spare. You know we are a fun, social club, and volunteering is no different. It’s always a pleasure to help. And trust your faithful webmaster when she tells you: the thanks and appreciation you receive when you volunteer is effusive! No thankless jobs in THIS club!!

Look below for the many different ways in which to get involved. It is truly a very rewarding part of being a hunt member, and helps you to get the most out of your membership. And as always, many hands make light work.

Members and a Green Monster Helping with a Hunt Territory

Subscribe to our Mailing List (on the sidebar ➔) to hear about territory work days.
Territory work may include marking trails, cleaning up downed branches, or repairing jumps. This is very important work as it allows us to hunt safely. It’s also very fun and sometimes members bring their toys.

Kennel Clean-Up
Yes, Volunteering will make you smile!

See our Calendar for kennel clean-up and repair days.
Wentworth kennels are located at Tuckaway Farm in Lee, NH. We usually schedule one or two days of kennel clean-up each year.

Many hands make light work! Come for an hour or two, come for the afternoon, any help is very much appreciated by us and our adorable hounds! Remember: Hounds are the reason we hunt and without them, there is no hunt.

Hunter Paces

Wentworth hosts up to three hunter paces each year. These are very fun activities and a great opportunity to meet fellow riders in relaxed and informal setting.

Hunter Paces are one of Wentworth Hunt’s major fundraisers. We cannot run these without volunteers. Please consider signing up. Even if you can only spare an hour or two, we would be very grateful!

Contact our Secretary if you have questions or need more information.

Entertainment and Social Activities

Entertainment Committee meetings may be found on our Calendar.
Wentworth Hunt hosts many social activities throughout the year including our Derby Party, Polo Clinic and Barbecues, Opening Day/Blessing Tea, our Annual Hunt Ball and Silent Auction, and many more!

These activities are organized by our Entertainment Committee. This committee meets on the first Monday of the month and everyone is very welcome to join! Entertainment and social activities are great volunteer opportunities for our members who may only be free in the evenings. As with all our activities, even a small amount of your time helps us tremendously! And …. IT’S FUN!!

For more information, please contact our Entertainment Committee chair, the inimitable Maria, at: maria_s_chambers@yahoo.com.

Hound Walks

Hound walk information may be found on our Calendar.
Wentworth Hunt has hound walks during the off season when we are not actively hunting. Normally these walks occur on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 9:30 am from the kennels at Tuckaway Farm in Lee, NH. These are a great opportunity to learn more about our beloved hounds, learn their names, their personalities, and their abilities, and perhaps even discuss our hounds with Rachel, our Huntsman!
