We are a membership hunt and rely on members and volunteers to do most of the work of the club. It is rewarding and fun and our volunteers make a huge difference. Please read over the items below and see if anything fits your time and talent
or if you have other ideas, bring them to a board meeting or talk to anyone on the board. You don't need to be a riding member to help out. We are very indebted to all who contribute their time and resources to keep up our pack and make this hunt as enjoyable as it is. We already have a great group of volunteers, so come on board!

Events:
- Hunt Ball Auction: Karen Immel joined Whippers-In Kami Wolk and Liz Esmiol to co-chair the Hunt Ball Auction this year. The club is so grateful for your hardwork putting together a wonderful selection and fun auction at the Ball in February.
Hunter Paces: We typically need help with tagging, food, reception, timing, publicity. Please contact Pace Series Chairman Bethanie Boomsma if you are interested! We run a series of three hunter paces, with ribbons at each, series awards and trophies.
Dressage Show Volunteers: Show Manager Sarah Isherwood will be looking for help this Spring, including Setup/Breakdown, Ads, Programs, Concessions, Runners, Scribes, Scorers, Publicity ...
Ongoing:
- Jump Building Committee: Jan Brubacher leads this group and they have done a great job this year building additional jumps, permanent and portable. Please contact Jan Brubacher if you would like to help!
A big thank you goes out to the energetic and dedicated group of volunteers that worked with chairman Jan Brubacher the past few seasons building portable jumps, putting out many new jumps at Yorkfield Farm, Fine Nest Farm, Branch Hill Farm, and Prodigue Farm, plus doing jump maintenance and trail clearing. It has made a big difference and the club is enormously grateful for your efforts!!
Join the fun ... it's great to see the territories on foot and take part in building the jumps and maintaining the trails ... gives you a new appreciation when you ride the territory during the hunt season.
Territory Work: We have a territory chair for each fixture and there is ongoing work that needs to be done to keep trails cleared and jumps ready, plus scouting out new trails. Please contact the Masters or Secretary if you have any interest, and we can connect you with individual Territory Chairmen.
Tea Chairmen: For formal season we like to have more formal teas as well! We have tea chairmen for each territory, the work is very simple, just making sure that we have a nice spread of food and any coordination with the landowners. Please contact the Secretary if you can help with teas.
Hound Walks: Always looking for people who want to come out to help the Huntsman and Staff with exercising the hounds! It is fun and great exercise for you too. We have had a great group of volunteers helping with hound exercise this past winter! Your own dog is welcome to join the walks. Please do be respectful of our gracious landowners at Tuckaway. When footing is good, we will begin mounted hound exercise late Spring. Contact Huntsman.
Ground Crew: Assists with all ground work at meets, including road crossings, hounds, stirrup cup. Its fun to be a part of the action from the ground, please contact the Masters if you have an interest in coming out to help with the ground crew.
Hosting Monthly Board Meetings: Meetings generally run March through November, with March being the Annual Meeting. Contact the Secretary if you would be interested in hosting a meeting. Everyone is welcome (and encouraged) to attend board meetings, its a good way to learn whats happening and how you can help. The annual meeting is generally the third Sunday in March, and remaining board meetings are typically on the third Monday of the month, Potluck Social 6:30pm, Meeting 7:00pm.
